Main sewer lines
Sewer line cleaning in York County, PA
Quick facts
What's included in a main line clearing?
- Included
- Clearing up to 100 ft and a flow test after — proof it drains, not a guess. Range on the pricing page.
- Camera
- Available as an add-on during the visit or standalone; cheaper as an add-on while we are already there.
- Call immediately if
- Sewage is rising from a floor drain or more than one fixture backs up at once — stop running water first.
Roots
Why does the main keep blocking every few months?
In this county, the usual answer is tree roots. They enter at pipe joints, catch paper, and rebuild the blockage on a schedule. Cutting them clears the line today; Root-X treatment slows them down; but a line that roots have opened is a line with a gap in it. The honest sequence is: clear it, camera it, and then decide with the footage in front of you — not a standing appointment to snake it quarterly.
Straight answer
Will you tell me if the pipe is broken?
Yes — with the camera footage, not an opinion. If the line is collapsed, bellied, or offset, clearing it again won't hold, and our 30-day functional warranty doesn't pretend otherwise: it excludes collapsed and severely damaged pipe for exactly that reason. You'll know what we saw, where it is, and how deep.
TODO: confirm with client whether excavation / spot repair is performed in-house or referred out — this section must state which before launch. See docs/unverified-claims.md.

Main line symptoms: which ones can't wait?
Do not wait
Call now
- Sewage at the floor drain or basement shower
- Toilet flushes and a tub gurgles or fills
- Every fixture slow at once
No emergency
Can wait until morning
- A single slow fixture upstairs
- One gurgling drain, everything else normal
- Planning a camera before buying a house
Waiting costs nothing extra either way — after-hours pricing is on the pricing page.
