Is it worth plunging again before you call?

Yes — once, properly. Use a flange plunger (the kind with the sleeve), get a seal, and give it a dozen firm strokes. If the bowl clears and refills normally, you're done and we never meet. If the water rises toward the rim, stop: take the tank lid off and push the flapper down to kill the refill. That buys you a dry floor while you call.

What does the visit look like?

An auger through the trap clears most toilet blockages in one pass. If the auger comes back clean but the toilet still won't flush right, the blockage is past the fixture — in the branch line or the main — and we'll tell you which before doing anything that changes the price. A second drain cleared on the same visit is cheaper than a second visit — ask when you call.
