Causes
What's actually blocking the drain?
Kitchen sinks block on grease and food solids that harden in the trap arm. Bathroom sinks and tubs block on hair and soap binding into a mat. Laundry drains collect lint and sludge where the pipe flattens out. Each one gets cleared differently — which is why the first step on site is finding the blockage, not feeding a cable in blind.
Method
Snake, or hydro jet?
A cable machine (snaking) opens the blockage and is the right call for most household clogs. Hydro jetting scours the pipe wall clean and is worth it for greased-up kitchen lines and recurring blockages — but it costs more, and we'll say plainly when it isn't needed. If a clog keeps returning, the answer is a camera, not a third snaking.

Scope
When is a clogged sink not a clog?
When every drain in the house is slow, the problem is the main sewer line, not the sink — see oursewer line page. And when the same drain blocks on a schedule, the pipe itself is the problem: bellied, scaled, or root-invaded. Snaking it monthly is a subscription, not a fix, and we won't sell it as one.
